There’s nothing weird about getting tired of old furniture.
But more and more, simply throwing our old stuff out seems to be becoming a thing of the past, with the trend of DIY flourishing thanks to the internet.
I just love how DIY projects give way to people’s creativity and truly let imagination flow. What can be more satisfying than using ur own mind and hands to create something for your own home?
The family in this story had a very specific reason to engage in their DIY project: their kids wouldn’t sit down for dinner. They decided it was time to come up with a way to get their children to finally sit down at least long enough to finish their meal.
And what a brilliant solution they came up with! Have a look below.
Here is the family’s former dining table. Nothing wrong with it, but it does feel rather impersonal doesn’t it? Don’t think so? Wait till you see the new one!
So they got rid of it and it was time for a fresh new look.
They began to mount wood boards up along the wall.
They add a few more boards…
And went on to erect even more boards, all around the room’s walls.
Did you guess the next step? Yes, time to put on the foundation for the seats.
Foam overlay proved to be both cheap and comfortable!
They then stapled water-repellent materials to the seats, so no need to fear spillage from their children during dinner.
Once the seats are in place, it’s time to seal up the benches.
Next a classy white edge, neat!
It’s all painted in a classic, bright white.
Now it’s just time to set up the large and welcoming matching table!
