Ikea’s Gift To 329 Employees: A Bonus Month Salary, Just To Say Thanks. Your Welcome!

Things are looking pretty good for a few hundred Ikea employees at one of the mega-furniture store’s world locations in Aalborg, Denmark. Store management has announced that all 329 employees can expect to receive a hefty bonus this year: a whole extra month’s pay. Why? Simply to say thanks for their hard work and a successful year at the store, reports local Danish media, TV2 Nord.

The Aalborg Ikea store is once again reporting a successful and profitable year. And as it turns out, the good results will not leave store employees empty-handed.

This branch of the famous home store is thanking all 329 of its employees for their hard work and dedication by giving everyone a hefty bonus: the equivalent amount of one month’s salary.

“Our handsome revenue is due to the great effort of all 329 of our employees, and I am so happy and proud to have such dedicated and committed staff – they are the ones that make the difference and they are the first contact with customers. The bonus we’re give to all our employees in Aalborg this year is well deserved for their impressive efforts,” John Kristian Sorensen, store manager of IKEA Aalborg, told local Danish press.

Ikea Aalborg has seen increased sales both within its furniture and accessories for the home sectors. In addition, the department store’s restaurant sales have increased by six percent. These increases have enabled the store to hire 25 new employees.
