Photographer captures the moment a baby rhino plays in snow for the first time

It is cold. It’s slippery. It melts.

But what is it?

This is probably what the baby rhino in the video below thought when she experienced snow for the first time in her life.

The encounter, caught on video, shows the rhino hesitate as she sees a pile of white stuff. Then a few minutes later, the rhino overcomes all of her fears and plays joyfully in the snow.

Watch the video below to see this little cutie throw herself in the snow, roll around, and try to keep her balance!

The baby rhino lives at the Blank Park Zoo in Iowa, where she was born on October 11, 2016. She weighed about 80 pounds (36 kg) at birth and has already gained about 200 pounds (90 kg).

Rhinos are an endangered species and are still threatened by poachers. Today, there are five species of rhinos, four of which are endangered and one species (white rhinoceros) that is close to being endangered.
