Teen’s Small Gesture To 2 Cops Leads To Incredible Kindness.

Some of the most important work that anyone in our society does is done by police officers. Unfortunately, though, these brave men and women rarely get the attention they deserve for all the hard work they do maintaining law and order. Instead, it’s not unusual for cops to endure provocations and harsh words while they’re on the job. This is something that police officers Rance Quinn and George Sims have experienced over the years during their work at the Kansas City Police Department. No one seemed to appreciate the work they do for their community and their effort seemed to be in vain. But then something happened that they hadn’t anticipated…

For over 20 years, Rance Quinn has put his soul into doing as well as he can in his job as a police officer in the Kansas City Police Department. But lately, he’s felt that the support that he and his colleagues used to get has waned considerably.

“It just seems like there’s a lot of anti-police type of activity going on. I know we’re unwanted but it makes us feel like we’re under-appreciated,” officer Quinn told WDAF.

But then one day, officer Quinn went for lunch with his colleague George Sims, and something happened that would give him hope again. Suddenly, a young teenage girl came up to them, put a napkin on their table, and hurried away.

The police were surprised by what happened, and bent over to see that she wrote something special on the napkin: “Thank you for keeping us safe.”

Heartened by her words, they rose to try and thank her, but it was too late—she had already left the restaurant with her family.

But their surprising lunch wasn’t over. A moment later, a woman with two small children came to their table. She told the officers that her 5-year-old son, who is deaf, had always wanted to meet a police officer. Now that he saw two police officers in front of him, he wanted to take the opportunity to meet them. Rance and his colleague didn’t hesitate for a moment, and of course interacted with the little boy.

Then when the time came for the officers to pay for their lunch, they were in for yet another surprise.

“As we finished our meals and asked for our checks the waitress told us the table behind us bought our food. That was the table that left us our note. The waitress spoke about how much she supported us and could not thank us enough. What great people,” the police officers wrote on Facebook.

I must say that I’m really touched by the absolutely fabulous things that these people did. Our police officers receive too little credit for the good work they do.

If you want to support our police officers, share this story so that more people get the chance to learn about this beautiful event.
