Whether it’s people or animals, when a life’s in danger it’s vital that you act quickly. Every second can make a difference; you never know how long you have.
Those are exactly the circumstances that presented themselves when one boy saw what looked to be a dog in a deep canal.
Using his legs
With the canal dangerously deep, he knew he couldn’t simply jump in and grab the dog; he had no way of getting out again. He quickly realized that he had to think outside the box and do something completely different.
The dog itself was trying desperately to stay afloat. With no platform or stairs to access though, he was doomed to struggle until he went under.
Fortunately, the boy was determined to help. He decided to put his own safety at risk, jumped down and hung from the edge of the railing.
As he clutched the railing, he channeled his inner-creative and began to use his legs to lift the dog from the water.
A true hero
The boy was able to pull the dog from the canal and lift it up. His friends could then help him get beyond the railings, and so the day was saved!
Thanks to one young boy’s quick-thinking, a dog was saved from drowning. Help us celebrate this true animal hero.
