That was certainly the case in a shopping mall recently, when a man was forced to carry his dog up an escalator after his pooch decided a moving staircase wasn’t for him.
In the clip, the dog can be seen approaching the escalator warily. The Golden Retriever then comes to the conclusion that he’s not going to go up to the second floor after all, and so sits down and refuses to move.
When his owner tries to encourage him, the dog comically refuses, looking for all the world like a stubborn child.
With little choice left, and a steadily growing crowd of on-lookers, the owner is forced to accept that there’s only one way his canine companion is going to be moved….
That’s right, he picks the dog up and carries it himself, with the dog retaining a look of smugness that hints at the fact he knew exactly what he was doing.
The video was quickly uploaded to social media and, unsurprisingly, has become something of an internet sensation. We have but one question for the owner: Why on earth didn’t you just use the lift?
