‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’ star, Eduardo Xol, dead one week after stabbing

Eduardo Xol, star of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, has died.

According to local reports, Xol died more than a week after he was stabbed in Palm Springs, California.

On September 10, around 5:41 a.m., police received a call from a man requesting assistance. When officers arrived they found Xol in an apartment suffering from serious injuries.

The 58-year-old told police he had been stabbed, but did not provide an identity of the suspect.

Xol was transported to the hospital in serious, but stable condition. He died Friday, September 20 at Desert Regional Medical Center.

Richard Joseph Gonzales, 34, of Cathedral City has been arrested in connection to the death of Xol. Several hours after Xol contacted police, Gonzales phoned police to report that he had been assaulted the previous night.

An investigation revealed Gonzales was a suspect in the stabbing, and he was arrested. The Palm Springs Police Department are now requesting murder charges be brought against the 34-year-old.

The TV personality was best known for his appearance on Extreme Makeover Home Edition, which he joined during the show’s second season. In addition to starring on the home renovation reality series, Xol also appeared in several telenovelas.
