Patrick Dempsey’s three children stepped out with him for the first time in a rare red-carpet appearance and fans can’t get enough of his twin sons.

Sullivan and Darby, who turned 17 this year, are the handsome mini-me’s who the “Sexiest Man Alive” shares with his wife Jillian Fink.

On February 1, 2007, Patrick Dempsey, 58, and Jillian Fink, also 58, became a party of five when they welcomed fraternal twin sons Sullivan and Darby, the baby brothers of Talula, who was born in 2002.

The Grey’s Anatomy star reveals that he “was a little overwhelmed” when he and Fink learned they were having two more children.

“I think we’re done now,” said the star, who was named People’s “Most Sexiest Man Alive” in 2023.

Darby, the more “reserved and quiet” of the two, shares a middle name with his famous dad and was noticeably different from his brother since birth.

While both inherited their dad’s famous hair, Darby was blond hair and Sullivan had “Sid Vicious black, punk-rock hair.”

“Sullivan is very funny, he has funny expressions in the way he’s taking things in,” said the Disenchanted star.

Like ‘drunk little men’

As the babies became toddlers, the lovable dad joked that they were sources of entertainment for him.

Speaking of when they were learning to walk, he said, “It’s like a slapstick routine watching these drunk little men run around because they’re wobbly.  When you see something happen that they couldn’t do the day before, it’s really heartwarming.”

While Talula, now 22, is daddy’s little girl, the Can’t Buy me Love star says the boys keep him way more active.

“Boys are completely different than girls for obvious reasons, but physically they’re so much more active! You cannot turn your back [because] there’s always an injury, there’s always something going on,” Dempsey shared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! (via People).

‘Family sport’

The racing enthusiast was excited to add a couple of boys to his brood and looked forward to taking them for a spin around the track. Racing, he says, is “such a family sport.”

“I think it brings me back to that part of my life as a child. I have just always loved cars and racing. My father was a big fan of it, I used to collect Matchbox cars and on a Friday night, my dad would always bring me one home,” Dempsey told AP in 2014. At the time, the professional race car driver finished fifth in his class at the Le Mans 24 Hours race.

“I don’t dislike acting. There’s just certain challenges I’d like to have in my acting profession and I haven’t found those roles that have really made it worthwhile for me to give up a racing season to go do.”

Until he found that role.

Family affair

It should come as no surprise that almost 17 years later, the entire family appeared for the first time together at the red-carpet premiere of Dempsey’s 2023 film Ferrari, where he played Italian Formula One driver Piero Taruffi.

Fink was wearing a sparkling gold gown that hugged her body while Dempsey looked dapper in a black suit that he paired with a matching tie and gray shirt.

Talulah was seen in a sleek black dress and clutched her father’s arm as the group posed for photos.

Darby and Sullivan also appeared in all black.

Online users were shocked to see how big the boys were. The parents usually share cute throwback photos of the boys on their birthdays and many fans were unaware that Sullivan and Darby had grown into handsome young men.

“Someone inherited dad’s famous hair,” writes one fan of the two teenagers.

“My gosh, they’ve grown (as children do). They seemed so much smaller last time,” writes another while a third adds, “The kids have grown up, time flies that’s for sure.”

Another netizen shares, “I didn’t know he had twins. There are two more of him wow!”

Their distinct differences as babies are more obvious now that they are teenagers, Dempsey explains.

Darby loves soccer and plays for a team his dad coaches and Sullivan is expressing an interest in acting.

“I think with your kids, whatever their passion is, you give your support. You give them the opportunity to try what they want to try,” Dempsey shared.
