The following hack, being hailed as genius across the internet, comes courtesy of Twitter user Valentina Pestilene. I’ll warn you beforehand that it may well drive you crazy with its simplicity, but once over your fury you’ll be left with a trick you can use forevermore.

A knife is inserted into the bulb, and with a simple twist the clove is both separated and pulled from its skin.

Valentina accompanied her video with the caption: “As someone who makes a lot of Korean food, this is the best method for getting garlic peeled!”

Sounds too simple to be true? You got that right.

Makes you wonder why you never tried that? Yep, you got that right.

Has you wanting to try out this technique yourself? You’re not the only one.

In fact, following Valentina’s video – which picked up significant traction on Twitter – a whole host of people, from chefs to students, tried it out. Turns out, it appears to literally be as easy as Valentina makes it look.

Have a watch for yourself in the video below. We’re sure it takes some amount of practise before you’re as proficient as the person in the clip, but … you get the idea.
