The husband of country music singer Kellie Pickler, Kyle Jacobs, died on Friday by apparent suicide.
According to reports, the Nashville Police Department was called to a home on Friday at 1:12 p.m. 49-year-old Jacob was found “deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.”
“His death is being investigated as an apparent suicide,” the statement, published by People, said.

Pickler, a contestant on season five of “American Idol” in 2010, told the authorities that she had woken up to find her husband missing.
The country music singer, 36, and her personal assistant searched the home and found they could not enter one of the rooms. They then called the police.
According to reports, Jacobs had updated his Instagram page as recently as Thursday (one day prior to his death) with an upbeat announcement concerning Lee Brice’s “Hey World” going platinum.
Jacobs wrote: “Platinum?! SWEEEET!!! An amazing crew of incredibly talented peeps put this one together…Deeply honored to be a creative part of it…Thank you Jesus!!!”
The 49-year-old was a producer and songwriter whose hits included the 2007 Garth Brooks song “More Than a Memory”. He had also worked with artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Randy Travis, Scott McCreery, Josh Kelley, and Clay Walker.
He and Pickler married in 2011 and had a three-season run with their show “I Love Kellie Pickler”.
“I’m just going to be me and be with my wife and just be us,” Jacobs said of the show in 2015.
“We’ve just built such a foundation of trust and love…Whatever work is, if it ever gets in the way of our marriage then it gets in the way. Our marriage comes first.”
