Jordanna Barrett, the wife of NFL player Shaquil Barrett, has made a heartbreaking statement following the tragic death of the couple’s two-year-old daughter at their home in South Tampa last weekend.
According to devastating reports, Tampa police officers responded to an incident shortly after 9:30am local time on Sunday, April 30, involving a young child who had fallen into a pool.
The Barrett’s two-year-old daughter Arrayah was rushed to hospital and life-saving measures were taken, but she was sadly pronounced dead that same day.
With thousands on the internet offering words of consolation, Jordanna, wife of Shaquil, a linebacker who plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, took to the internet to make a statement.
Accompanied by a picture of her daughter celebrating her recent second birthday, Jordanna wrote:
“Our world will never be the same. Arrayah was the apple of my eye, and my heart will forever be with hers.
“I love you so much my baby. I am so so sorry. Until we see each other again, please watch over your siblings and momma and dada. We love you forever and ever and always.
“I can’t wait to see that precious smile again, and just hug you so close. I would do absolutely anything. There is no Barrett 6 without you, and we will forever hold your place down here, until we all meet again in heaven. I love you forever and always.”
Jordanna also posted a link to an obituary for her little girl. It read:
“Arrayah’s smile brought so much joy to anyone who encountered her.”
Amongst the other tributes that flooded the internet, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers posted their own message, writing:
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Shaq, Jordanna and the entire Barrett family during this unimaginably difficult time.
“While no words can provide true comfort at a time such as this, we offer our support and love as they begin to process this very profound loss of their beloved Arrayah.”
As per reports, Arrayah was the youngest of Shaquil and Jordanna’s four children.
Shaquil Barrett, 30, has made the Pro Bowl twice in his eight-year career.
Rest in peace, Arrayah. Made the angels watch over you.
