Kyle Richards opens up about harsh reality of separation from husband of 27 years: ‘This has been very hard’

Living life in the public eye isn’t for the faint of heart. And even for those who are up to the challenge it can be quite difficult, especially when you’re going through a deeply personal matter.

In July, rumors began to swirl that Kyle Richards and her husband Mauricio Umansky of 27 years were getting a divorce. Since then, Richards said it’s been “very hard” to navigate life.

“You know this has been very hard to do [because] it’s playing out with so many people having eyes on us and [with us] being in the public eye.”

In July, rumors began to swirl that the couple was heading for a divorce.

The two took to social media and issued a joint statement reading, “Any claims regarding us divorcing are untrue.”

“However, yes, we have had a rough year, the most challenging one of our marriage. But we both love and respect each other tremendously. There has been no wrongdoing on anyone’s part.”

“Although we are in the public eye, we ask to be able to work through our issues privately. While it may be entertaining to speculate, please do not create false stories to fit a further salacious narrative. Thank you for the love and support.”

Recently, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star participated in an Amazon Live session where she chatted with fans about her relationship with Umansky.

Although she remained tight-lipped on the details, she implied the two were on good terms and “care about each other a lot.”

The 54-year-old shared the estranged couple recently returned from an Italian vacation with their children, but admitted she couldn’t share anymore because it was “just too much to deal with right now.”

While Richards struggles, she revealed her daughters were “holding up” amidst the news of the separation.

“Listen, they know that we all love each other and they’re old enough to understand that not everything is perfect all of the time and that’s okay and no matter what they’re loved.”
