Abby and Brittany were born March 7, 1990 in Minnesota. The sisters, known as dicephalus conjoined twins, were born fused together at the torso. Although their parents discussed the possibility of separating the two, they decided against it.

At the time doctors considered the surgery to be extremely risky.

The conjoined twins have separate spinal cords, brains, hearts, and other organs, those organs below the waist are shared. Abby controls the right side of their body while Brittany controls the left side.

In 1996, Abby and Brittany shot to national fame after they appeared on Oprah’s talk show. Following their appearance on the show, TLC documented their lives on the reality series, Abby & Brittany.

The series followed the twins as they graduated college and later traveled to Europe.

They currently live in Minnesota where they are fifth grade teachers. Abby is also married. According to public records, she married Josh Bowling, a nurse and Army veteran, in 2021.

Congratulations, Abby and Josh! May you continue to live a life of peace and happiness.
