Eva Longoria and husband José Bastón plan to leave Los Angeles to save their 5-year-old son

Eva Longoria is joining the long list of celebrities leaving Hollywood behind.

It seems as though Tinseltown does not have the same appeal as it did in years past. The glitz and glam have turned into traffic jams and security threats, and those with the means are not wasting any time settling down elsewhere.

According to reports, Longoria, 49, and her husband José Bastón, 56, have decided to leave Los Angeles for a much more relaxed life in Spain.

The couple, who share a five-year-old son Santiago, recently relisted their Beverly Hills home and have begun shipping their belongings to Marbella, Spain.

“They want to raise their son in a place where he will be surrounded by nature and beauty and not be sucked into the whole Hollywood cycle,” a source told DailyMail.

While the move reportedly is not permanent, the family will spend the second half of the year in Spain, where Longoria is a resident and homeowner.

“The first time I came to Marbella, two decades ago, it was love at first sight. I said to myself: ‘Some day I’ll live here.'” Longoria told Hello in January.

After five years of searching Longoria finally found the “right place” in 2023.

Compared to their home in Los Angeles, the Desperate Housewives alum calls it “my oasis, my paradise.”

“In Los Angeles, I’m always super busy — it’s not really so glamorous. I’m either on set, or in a meeting, or stuck in traffic … there’s so much traffic,” she said.

“I don’t have a schedule here [in Marbella]. My days are full of activities – paddle tennis, the beach, lunch, drinks, socializing… in fact, they’re full to the brim, but with things I really enjoy.”
