In case you missed the news, Hollywood Squares is coming back to TV and with it comes a new cast of famous faces.
CBS recently announced the host of the revival and the lucky star who will be seated in the famed center square.
CBS Mornings co-host Nate Burleson has been confirmed to host the reboot, which will premiere in January 2025 and air Wednesdays after The Price Is Right at Night and Raid the Cage.
The former NFL wide receiver joined CBS Mornings in September 2021. He also provides analysis for CBS’ NFL coverage.
For those unfamiliar with the game or just need a bit of a reminder – after all the game show did premiere in the mid-1960s – the show features two contestants who play tic-tac-toe to win money and prizes.
The “board” is a stack of cubes filled with familiar celebrity faces. The celebrities are asked questions, and the contestants have to judge the legitimacy of their answers in order to win the game.
While the rest of the cast has yet to be announced, CBS revealed Drew Barrymore would be featured in the center square on the game board.
The original show aired for 14 seasons with Peter Marshall as host before it was canceled. The series was picked up again in 1986 and aired in syndication until 1989 with John Davidson as host.
Hollywood Squares was given another chance in 1998 with Tom Bergeron serving as host, and it ran until 2004.
