Rare clip of Barron Trump talking emerges – everyone’s saying the same thing

It should come as no surprise that the world has taken a renewed interest in Barron Trump over the course of the past week or so.

The 18-year-old son of the former and future President of the United States has largely been kept out of the limelight during his formative years. The general consensus is that this has been a conscious decision made on the part of his mother, Melania Trump, who wanted to give her son a relatively normal upbringing in the midst of all the craziness surrounding his family.

Barron was still only a child the first time Donald Trump was elected to the top seat in the White House, and though he lived in Washington for the duration of his father’s first term in office, his exposure to the media was kept to a minimum.

That’s expected to change now that Barron is a man grown. Strikingly tall and at the age where he’s perhaps beginning to charter the course his own life will take, Barron was present on stage when Donald gave his victory speech in Florida before the 2024 election was officially over.

Who is Barron Trump?

Needless to say, the general lack of information on Trump’s youngest son has encouraged people to clamor for the tit-bits that are out there. Last week much of the internet erupted in shock after seeing just how tall Barron is compared to his close family members – by and large comfortably taller than the average human themselves – while other batches of speculation have insisted that the teenager, currently studying at university in New York, is setting his sights on his own political career in the future.

Certain rumors go as far as to say that Barron is touted by a number of Republican politicians as a potential future presidential candidate for the party – this in spite of the fact that he would have to wait until at least 2044 before he’s eligible to run for the Oval Office.

Earlier this week it was said that Barron has done his best to remain tight-lipped regarding his political stance, reportedly telling friends at NYU’s Stern School of Business that he “doesn’t support any party” whenever they’ve tried to draw him into debates.

Yet though Barron – who stands an impressive 6-foot-9 inches tall – remains a rather enigmatic figure in amongst the oft-brazen, ever public Trump clan, folk online are desperate to learn more about him.

Barron Trump as a child

Which is probably why a recently resurfaced clip from his childhood is now doing the rounds on social media. The video, originally filmed for a 2010 on Larry King Live featuring Donald and Melania Trump, shows Barron, aged just four, getting ready for school.

At that point it obviously wasn’t his stature that got people talking, but rather his accent when he spoke.

“I have to go to school now?” the young Barron can be heard asking his mother, with a thick Slovenian accent.

Melania replies: “Yes, first you will have lunch and then you’ll go to school.”

Donald adds: “You can do reading, writing, and arithmetic.”

The video in question, published on X, has over one million views at the time of writing, and internet denizens were quick to lend their thoughts.

“He had a Slovenian accent,” one shocked user replied.

“Does Barron speak with a Slovenian accent even though he was born and raised in New York because of Melania? That’s pretty funny,” another added.

“The fact that he has a Slovenian accent is sending me,” a third wrote.

“That’s so adorable,” read a fourth comment. “He sounds like his mom. You can tell she was a very involved mother.”

A fifth said: “I like how you can tell he’s a real mama’s boy because his accent is Melania’s. I wonder when it changed.”

These days any trace of Slovenian heritage in Barron’s accent is gone, but Melania’s continued influence in her son’s life cannot be understated. Reports insist that soon-to-be two-time first lady is currently living in New York to better support her son, as well as predicting that she will not make the White House her full-time residence when her husband takes office in January.
