Bárbara Jankavski — the Brazilian influencer known online as the “Human Barbie” for undergoing 27 plastic surgeries — has died under suspicious circumstances at just 31 years old.
Authorities confirmed her death on November 2 in São Paulo, where she was found wearing only her underwear with visible injuries to her left eye and back.
Police say Jankavski had spent the night with 51-year-old public defender Renato Campos Pinto de Vitto, who admitted to hiring her for “sexual services.” According to a police report obtained by CNN Brazil, the two had taken illicit substances before Jankavski became unresponsive.
De Vitto reportedly told investigators he “realized she wasn’t moving after she had fallen asleep”, and immediately called emergency services.
Paramedics instructed him to perform CPR, but Jankavski was declared dead at the scene.
Police treating case as “suspicious”
Authorities in São Paulo have opened a formal investigation into Jankavski’s death. Both an autopsy and toxicology tests have been ordered to determine what substances were involved and whether foul play occurred.
A friend of De Vitto’s later told police that Jankavski had sustained her injuries earlier that same day after a fall, though investigators have not confirmed that version of events.
Transformed herself
Online, Jankavski was best known by her handle “Boneca Desumana” — which translates to “Inhuman Doll.” With more than 400,000 followers across Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms, she had built a loyal fanbase fascinated by her extreme transformations and hyper-glamorous aesthetic.
She often shared details of her numerous cosmetic procedures, reportedly undergoing at least 27 surgeries in her quest to perfect her “Human Barbie” look.
After the tragic news, fans flooded her social media pages with tributes after news of her death broke, mourning the influencer who turned herself into a living doll.
Police have yet to announce official findings from the autopsy, but investigators say Jankavski’s death remains under active investigation.
