Trump breaks silence on Alex Pretti shooting — his message about Minneapolis is turning Heads

Two people have been killed by ICE agents in Minneapolis since they arrived in the city, among other cities in the state of Minnesota. As late as Saturday, 37-year-old Alex Pretti was killed in the street. Now, President Donald Trump has given his view of the shooting – and addressed how long the ICE agents will stay.

United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers have stirred strong emotions. The goal: finding illegal immigrants to deport.

Among the cities where ICE raids have occurred are Miami, Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York City, Phoenix, and more. Their approach has been met with both criticism and praise, mostly from MAGA supporters.

Sadly, lives have been lost during these raids as they have been operating in the State of Minnesota. Renee Nicokle Good was shot and killed by an ICE officer a few weeks ago, and on Saturday, 37-year-old Alex Pretti was gunned down.

At approximately 9.05 am on Saturday, near Nicolett Avenue in Minneapolis, 37-year-old Alex Pretti was shot and killed by an ICE agent. The fatal shooting happened as agents conducted an enforcement operation in the area, and the reactions afterward have been furious.

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Trump did not give an answer on whether the shooting was justified or not. However, he stated that they are “looking, we’re reviewing everything and will come out with a determination.”

“I don’t like any shooting. I don’t like it,” Trump continued. “But I don’t like it when somebody goes into a protest and he’s got a very powerful, fully loaded gun with two magazines loaded up with bullets also. That doesn’t play good either.”

The president added that the gun Pretti allegedly had with him, a Sig Sauer P320 9mm pistol, was a “very dangerous gun, a dangerous and unpredictable gun. It’s a gun that goes off when people don’t know it.”

In videos taken shortly before the fatal killing took place, Alex Pretti could be seen trying to help a woman to her feet after she had been shoved into the snow by an ICE agent.

The ICU nurse was pepper-sprayed and tackled to the ground before several gunshots were heard. His family has publicly stated that they are ‘sickened’ with the lies the Trump administration pushed about their son.

“The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting,” they said in a statement. “Please get the truth out about our son. He was a good man.”

If and when ICE agents will appear in any other cities is not yet known. Donald Trump told the Wall Street Journal that he has not set a final date for when ICE agents will leave Minneapolis.

“At some point, we will leave. We’ve done, they’ve done a phenomenal job. We’ll leave a different group of people there for the financial fraud,” he said.

On Truth Social, Trump has demanded cooperation from Democratic politicians going forward.

“The Trump Administration is standing by and waiting for ANY Democrat to do the right thing and work with us on these important matters of MAKING AMERICA SAFE like it is in all sections of our country where we are, together with Local Leadership, participating and involved,” he said.
