The Royal Family is going through a harrowing time. Andrew Mounbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, was arrested last week on suspicion of misconduct in public office, but the royal show must go on. On Sunday, Prince William and Kate MIddleton stepped out at the 2026 BAFTAs. While a body language expert stated they were “anxious,” William also delivered a three-word warning to his wife.
The Royal Family has had its fair share of scandals throughout history. But what has occurred in the last few years might take the price. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, has been heavily connected to late convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and the infamous Epstein files.
While he was stripped of his royal titles and ousted from his home by his brother, King Charles, a new scandal has sent the royals into a spiral. Last week, Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
King Charles provided a written statement shortly after, saying that they welcome an investigation. Meanwhile, on Sunday, Prince William and Kate Middleton stepped out together as they made an appearance at the 2026 BAFTAs.
William opened up about his current feelings when asked whether he had watched the movie Hamnet, which centers on the death of William Shakespeare’s 11-year-old son.

“I need to be in quite a calm state and I am not at the moment,” he replied.
Prince William & Kate Midleton’s “anxious” appearance amid Andrew’s arrest
Other than that, which many took as a somewhat pointed comment on how his feelings are after Andrew’s arrest, the royals have not commented on their family members’ actions. Meanwhile, a body language expert has now stated that it was visibly clear that William and Kate have been affected by it.
Speaking with PageSix, body language expert Judi James, William and Kate did not act the way the royals normally do. She claimed the events over the past week have left “undeniable tensions.”
“[The royals] walk side by side with their arms hanging loose at their sides, with a closeness of the dangling inner hands suggesting a desire to clasp hands here or perhaps to perform the kind of signature truncated touches, pats and strokes they often give each other to support each other at events like this,” James said.

“Instead of touching, though, we can see the fingers of William’s right hand slightly curled so that his index finger touches his thumb, hinting at a self-soothe ritual,” James added of the future king.
William issues 3-word warning to Kate
The body language expert also claimed that Prince William showed “some anxiety” at the BAFTAs. Especially in one moment “where his lips [were] pulled inward and his brows pulled into a small frown.”
While the royals have a lot on their mind, Prince William never forgets to put his wife first. Per Express, he gave Kate Middleton a blunt 3-word warning on the red carpet, telling her to “watch your step” as they made their way into the gala.
The Princess of Wales appeared not to respond to his warning.
