Leaked photo causes chaos at Hillary Clinton’s Epstein deposition

The deposition of former First Lady Hillary Clinton relating to her dealings with late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein was halted yesterday over a leaked photo.

Clinton was summoned to answer questions from a congressional committee on Thursday, February 26, and spoke for hours during the behind-closed-doors session.

Both Hillary and her husband, former president Bill Clinton, were ordered to testifying before a House Oversight Committee as part of its investigation into infamous sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his network of influence.

Bill Clinton’s name has long been mentioned in connection with Epstein’s, and the 79-year-old cropped up numerous times in the files the Department of Justice released earlier this year. Bill is due to appear testify today, February 27.

It was his wife’s turn yesterday, and during the hours-long session, Hillary claimed she had “no idea” about Epstein’s crimes. In her opening statement, she said:

“I do not recall ever encountering Mr Epstein. I never flew on his plane or visited his island, homes or offices. I have nothing to add to that.”

While the former US secretary of state was answering questions, MAGA influencer Benny Johnson posted an image of her from the hearing itself. Johnson, known for blindly parroting pro-Trump propaganda, said the image in question was sent to him by Rep. Lauren Boebert.

Captioning the photo of Clinton, Johnson wrote: “The first image of Hillary Clinton testifying under oath about Jeffery Epstein to the Republican Oversight Committee.

“This is the first time Hillary has had to answer real questions about Epstein. Clinton does not look happy.”

Boebert didn’t confirm that she had supplied Johnson with the image, but did write on X: “Benny did nothing wrong. Proceeding with deposition.”

When word of the photo’s online publication spread, Hilary Clinton’s hearing was paused. Nick Merrill, Clinton’s advisor, revealed that proceedings went off record ‘while they figure out where the photo came from and why possibly members of Congress are violating House rules’.

Meanwhile, attorneys representing Clinton called for proceedings to be ceased altogether as a result of the image, insisting that it broke the rules regarding pictures being taken in the closed-door congressional testimony.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, a spokesman for the former First Lady said: “It’s against chamber rules that were read at the top of the meeting. So the hearing has been paused briefly while they figure out where the photo came from and why, possibly, members of Congress are violating House rules.”

Clinton used part of her opening statement to call on President Donald Trump to appear under oath to answer questions on his own relationship with Epstein.

“If this Committee is serious about learning the truth about Epstein’s trafficking crimes, it would not rely on press gaggles to get answers from our current president on his involvement; it would ask him directly under oath about the tens of thousands of times he shows up in the Epstein files,” she said.
