Prince William attacked by furious TV star after bombshell statement

Prince William will be the Supreme Governor of the Church of England when he becomes king. Still, he has been said not to be “comfortable in a faith environment.” Now, William is slammed by a furious former aide to the late Queen Elizabeth.

Christianity and its role in modern society have been debated repeatedly. Meanwhile, British monarchs and the church are still closely connected, not least because they serve as Defender of the Faith and Supreme Governor of the Church of England.

When King Charles passes, Prince William will take the throne. However, reports about his faith have claimed he might not be that open with his belief in the rhuch.

Per a report in the Times, an aide said the Prince of Wales’ “commitment to the Church of England is sometimes quieter than people expect, and for that reason it is not always fully understood.”

“Those who know him well recognise that his connection to the Church, and to the sense of duty that comes with it, runs deep and is grounded in something personal and sincere. Faith, service, and responsibility are themes that have long shaped the role he will one day inherit, and they are things he approaches in his own thoughtful way.”

Prince William attackade by TV star over being “not particularly religious”

The aide added, “His feeling is, ‘I might not be at church every day, but I believe in it, I want to support it and this is an important aspect of my role and the next role, and I will take it very seriously, in my own way’.”

Royal biographer Robert Hardman has described William as “not particularly religious” and “beset by doubts about whether he should head up a church he doesn’t attend much.” Now, British TV star and writer Gavin Ashender has shared a furious attack on the future king.

Per Express, during an LBC debate, Ashenden said that William’s silence on faith is “insulting.” The former Chaplain to the late Queen Elizabeth said he was “feeling a bit insulted,” adding that his faith is a matter of “intense integrity.”

“People die for it in places, they give their lives for it. The standards are very high, you forgive your enemies, you love your enemies,” Gavin Ashenden continued. “It’s a big thing”.

Fans divided

The attack on Prince William has left fans divided. Per Express, one person wrote on social media, “So the person writing a book and cashing in from another persons life is believed over that person. Ridiculous – stop making it political. People find God at different times in their lives.”

Another added, “Religious belief or not doesn’t change a person’s character, and is really nobody else’s business, while a third stated, “Give the guy a break. He’s dammed when he does, and he’s dammed when he doesn’t. How about doing the Christian thing yourself and giving him some support and respect?”
