Twins dubbed “world’s most beautiful” shows what they look like years after viral photos

Leah Rose and Ava Marie Clements, often hailed as the “most beautiful twins in the world,” first captured hearts in 2017 on their 7th birthday when their mom, Jaqi Clements, created an Instagram account for them.

What started as a simple way to share family photos exploded overnight, with followers stunned by their angelic looks.

Leah Rose and Ava Marie Clements, the now-famous twins from Orange County, California, have been in the spotlight since they were just seven.

Their parents, Kevin, a high school swim coach, and Jaqi, knew early on that the girls had star potential. Although they considered starting their modeling careers when the twins were only six months old, the family decided to wait until the girls were ready for the time commitment.

When a local neighbor needed child models to promote a new boutique, the twins got their first professional photoshoot.

Jaqi shared the images with contacts she had collected from earlier attempts to launch their modeling careers, eventually signing contracts with two agencies — one in Orange County and another in Los Angeles.

Within a year, their Instagram following soared to over half a million. By December 2019, it reached 1.5 million, and by August 2023, nearly 2 million.

Early in their modeling career, they worked on campaigns for well-known brands such as American Girl, Janie and Jack, Claire’s, Skechers, Old Navy, Lands’ End, Nike, and Disney. They also appeared in international publications like Harper’s Bazaar Brazil and Vanity Fair Italia.

Now 15, the California twins have become internationally recognized child models, working with top brands like Nike, Disney, and Target, all while amassing nearly 3 million followers across Instagram and Facebook.

Jaqi says the journey began casually: “Instagram was something that I hadn’t used much before starting an account for the girls. If you would have asked me 6 months ago if 300,000 followers was a lot…I wouldn’t have had a clue.”

Fame and criticism

But the twins’ rise to stardom hasn’t been without controversy.

Many critics questioned whether it was appropriate for children so young to model professionally.

Jaqi firmly defends her family’s choices, emphasizing that modeling was the girls’ dream.

“I didn’t decide that my girls were going to start modeling, they did. And if the day ever comes that they want to move on to something else, I will 100% support their decision to do that,” she wrote in a blog post.

Using fame for a greater cause

In 2019, the Clements twins’ Instagram fame became a lifeline when their father, Kevin, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer, T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma.

Jaqi remembers how shocking the diagnosis was. One day, Kevin, who was 39 at the time, was teaching and training, and the next he was preparing to start intensive chemotherapy. The weeks before the diagnosis had been filled with uncertainty and worry.

Reflecting on the experience, Jaqi shared, “Maybe I was in denial, maybe I had decided not to believe anything without the results, or maybe I was just trying to stay positive, but even after everything, I truly couldn’t believe this could actually be cancer.”

By the time the final diagnosis arrived, the family had already been bracing for the worst. When their fears were confirmed, Jaqi shifted from denial to determination. “The thing about our family is, no matter what comes at us, we will get through it,” she said.

Determined to help, Leah and Ava turned to their millions of followers to find a bone marrow match for their dad.

Ava explained to People, “If he gets a transplant, his cancer will go away quicker.” Leah added, “People are so sweet to want to help my dad. The more people that get tested the better.”

The campaign sparked a huge response nationwide. Though Kevin ultimately found a match with his brother Chris, thousands of inspired followers were added to the national registry to help other patients in need.

Today, Leah and Ava continue to model while balancing school, family, and advocacy work. In recent years, the twins have started exploring life beyond modeling, trying out different activities and putting more focus on school and sports. A post from early 2024 showed that they had dabbled in tennis, baseball, and dance before deciding to concentrate on swimming and volleyball.

Kevin’s presence in recent family photos reflects the ongoing stability in their lives. In April 2025, the family celebrated Easter together, a reminder of how far they’ve come since the transplant.

As they’ve grown older, Ava and Leah have shifted their focus from modeling to creating their own projects. In 2024, they launched KAVEAH, a casual clothing brand aimed at tweens.

Ava and Leahs journey from local Instagram posts to international fame — and their role in supporting their dad through a life-threatening illness — has proven they’re more than just pretty faces.

As they grow, the world can’t wait to see what these remarkable twins will do next!
