Barron Trump has largely stayed out of the spotlight throughout his life, but a new report claims the 19-year-old is focused on one thing as he gets older – the way he sounds when he speaks.
According to celebrity journalist Rob Shuter, Barron is hoping to soften the Slovenian accent he reportedly inherited from his mother, Melania Trump. The goal, insiders say, isn’t to erase it completely but to develop a more traditional American accent.
The youngest son of President Donald Trump has spent much of his life away from public attention. Unlike his older siblings, Barron has rarely made public appearances, with Melania long working to protect his privacy.
Because Donald Trump spent years balancing business and politics, Barron was reportedly raised primarily by his Slovenian-born mother and her parents, Amalija and Viktor Knavs. Insiders say that upbringing contributed to his noticeable accent.
Now, however, a White House insider claims Barron is paying closer attention to how he comes across.
“Barron is very focused on how he presents himself now,” the source said, according to VT.
The insider also told Shuter that Barron wants to “be confident when he speaks,” triggering speculation that he could one day step into a more public-facing role, though nothing has suggested that’s currently his plan.
The renewed attention comes after an old video of Barron speaking as a child resurfaced online and went viral, with many viewers noticing his strong accent.
Barron Trump’s accent
Melania Trump previously acknowledged that her son had picked up the way she speaks during an interview with Larry King. When King asked whether Barron had an accent, she replied: “He does.”
She also explained that Barron speaks three languages and spends much of his time with her. Donald Trump was also asked about the topic during the interview.
“I think it’s great. Anything he does is OK with me,” he said, according to VT.
According to the insider, Melania has remained closely involved in her son’s life even as he has grown older.
“Barron was raised primarily by his mother and his grandparents.
“Even as he grows older, Melania watches over him closely.
“She wants him to have a normal life, free from cameras and public pressure, while still giving him the tools he needs to proceed.”
Sources told Shuter that Barron’s focus is on improving his speaking style rather than eliminating his accent entirely, saying he wants to come across as “confident” and “thoughtful [and] deliberate when he speaks.”
