Famous actress Hayden Panettiere, 36, has died suddenly, shocking fans around the world. Just weeks before her death, she shared what would become her final post on Instagram.
Panettiere, best known for her roles in Heroes, Nashville and the Scream franchise, was found unresponsive at a residence in Greenville, South Carolina, on Sunday, August 16. According to the Greenville Police Department, officers were called to the residence at around 1:50 p.m. after an acquaintance contacted 911.
Emergency responders attempted to provide medical assistance, but Panettiere was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Police said their preliminary investigation has not indicated any signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances. The Greenville Police Department is working with the Greenville County Coroner’s Office as the investigation continues, and Panettiere’s cause of death has not been released.
Just three weeks before her sudden death, Panettiere shared what would become her final Instagram post. The photo, posted on July 27, shows the actress alongside her friend Randall Slavin. She appears happy and carefree, winking at the camera while leaning against her friend’s shoulder.
The photo was accompanied by a simple caption: “good times and good friends.”
