A moment between Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump has sparked speculation online after the couple was filmed appearing to have an intense conversation at the Freedom 250 Grand Prix in Washington, D.C.
While the occasion was meant to celebrate the country’s 250 years of Independence, a video from the event quickly became the focus of attention for a very different reason.
In the footage, Trump and Melania can be seen speaking to one another while appearing visibly unhappy. The exchange has since attracted millions of views online, with social media users attempting to figure out what may have prompted the apparent disagreement. Melania eventually walks away from the conversation, while Trump remains behind.
The timing has also caught the attention of some viewers. Several social media users pointed out that Melania leaves shortly after the White House Appointments Secretary, Natalie Harp, arrives.
Some think Donald and Melania were arguing
Harp has previously attracted attention because of how frequently she accompanies Trump. She is known to have earned the nickname “The Printer” because she often follows him with a portable printer. Reports regarding the nature of their relationship have triggered speculation in recent months.
Some users on X quickly connected Harp to the interaction between Trump and Melania, although there is no evidence establishing that she had anything to do with the couple’s conversation.
“Looks like Trump and Melania were arguing over something at the Freedom 250 event today. My guess is it’s Natalie Harp,” one person wrote, according to VT.
Another claimed, “Melania leaves as soon a Natalie Harp is spotted in the booth.”
A third social media user wrote: “I wonder if it has anything to do with Trump‘s close aid Natalie? Melania couldn’t care less what Trump‘s relationship with Natalie is, but it humiliates her because it’s in public.”
Neither Trump nor Melania has publicly commented what they were discussing at the event.
