The Sussexes have sparked many reactions because of their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, and their new schools. Already before moving across the pond from their Montecito, California home, the Duke and Duchess enrolled their children in a new school, whose name and location have been kept out of the public eye.
However, after only two days, things took another turn. Harry and Meghan decided to switch schools because of security issues. A spokesperson for the couple said the decision was taken “following a discussion with the family’s security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements.”
“The parents remain extremely grateful to all the teachers and staff for the love, care and effort they have shown their family. This decision should in no way be interpreted as a reflection on the school or the exceptional care the children have received there,” the spokesperson added.
Later, reports suggested that Harry and Meghan had traveled to the school in a 4-car convoy. The trip, said to have taken an hour to and from the school, combined with heavy traffic during drop-off and pick-up hours, took too long.
Reports also suggest an incident disrupted the couple’s convoy, which was separated during the school run, leaving the cars “like sitting ducks” on the road.

Daily Mail revealed Tuesday that parents were “baffled” about Harry and Meghan’s decision.
“Parents at the school are completely baffled. You don’t need to be an expert to know how congested that area is. It’s one of the worst places to drive in the UK,” one source said.
“This was obviously going to happen,” another added.
Parents at Harry and Meghan’s children’s new school were given 24 hours’ notice they were joining – amid a new security scare for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Harry and Meghan have found a new school for Archie and Lilibet. Per the Mirror, the Sussexes arrived Thursday in a convoy of two 4×4 cars with their children at their new “private village school.”
A parent claimed to have seen the former royals arrive around 8.15 am with “security guards stepping out of the vehicles to open the doors for the family to exit”. Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan have been added to WhatsApp groups run by parents for each class, where they were welcomed to the new school.

But before they even arrived, Harry and Meghan’s team made sure parents got a heads-up that things would change. On Monday, after news emerged in the community that Archie and Lilibet would attend the school, parents received several text messages.
“The parents’ WhatsApp groups have been buzzing. It’s all been very sudden and lots of people are talking about it,” one mother told the Mirror.
Another added, “The school is very academic with a lovely close-knit village feel. All the parents talk to each other, so as long as they are friendly they’ll fit right in.”
Still, not every parent is convinced Archie and Lilibet’s arrival will do any good. At least not at first, since it’s something no one around is used to.
One parent said: “It’s all caused quite a commotion since the news filtered through. This is a small community school, and we are not used to anything like it, and certainly not famous parents rocking up in blacked-out cars to drop their children off.”
“Once the excitement dampens down for some, I am sure they (Harry and Meghan) will be invited to school events like any other parent. It’s a wonderful atmosphere here and I hope they will want to get involved in everything from school fundraisers to cheering on all our sports teams,” they added.
