The family of Presley Gerber has faced another heartbreaking moment following the 27-year-old’s sudden death. Just days after his passing, the 27-year-old son of Cindy Crawford has now been cremated. What will happen to his ashes has also been revealed.
Presley Gebrer, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, died last Sunday at a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica, California. The 27-year-old had been battling substance abuse for a decade.
Authorities are investigating his death as a possible overdose. A Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s report revealed that an autopsy was performed on Presley.
However, the exact cause of death could take months before being known.
“A deputy medical examiner performed an examination today, and the cause and manner of death have been deferred, which means additional testing and/or studies were requested in order to make a determination,” a Department of Medical Examiner statement read.
“Due to the ongoing death investigation, the [deputy medical examiner] cannot disclose what testing and/or studies were requested. Deferred cases can take a few months before a cause of death is determined.”

Presley Gerber’s body was released following the autopsy. And now, TMZ has shared an update on what has happened since. Per the news outlet, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber’s son has already been cremated. Meanwhile, sources told TMZ that arrangements for Presley’s funeral are underway.
It will be a “small and intimate” ceremony, most likely held within a week. As of now, the family is deciding between Forest Lawn and Malibu Presbyterian Church.
Moreover, per TMZ, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber have reportedly decided to keep his ashes at their Malibu home.
Cindy Crawford has not yet spoken out about her beloved son’s death. But shortly after his death was announced, the family shared a statement through their spokesperson, saying that they are “asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time.”
