Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s ex-husband Ryan Anderson speaks out after Ken Urker’s sudden death aged 34

Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s ex-husband Ryan Anderson has broken his silence following Ken Urker’s death.

Ken Urker, who shares a daughter, Aurora, with Blanchard, was reportedly found unresponsive inside his home in Raceland, Louisiana, on October 1 – the day he turned 34.

According to TMZ, Blanchard sent Urker a brief “happy birthday” text that morning but never heard back. Later that day, his brother reportedly found him at home. His sister subsequently confirmed his death during a live video shared online.

The circumstances surrounding Urker’s death remain unclear. His cause of death has not been disclosed, and authorities are continuing to investigate.

The Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office confirmed that an autopsy had been completed and told Page Six: “As you all know an autopsy was conducted this morning on Mr. Urker. At this time, there is no definitive cause of death.

“The case remains pending completion of toxicology testing.”

Ken Urker’s death

Urker and Blanchard had an on-again, off-again relationship that began in 2017. During a break in their relationship in 2022, Blanchard married Ryan Anderson. However, their marriage eventually ended, and in December 2023, she filed for divorce.

After their divorce, Blanchard got back together with Urker, and the couple later announced that they were expecting a child. According to reports, the couple quietly ended their relationship one month before his death.

Now, Anderson has spoken about Urker’s sudden death at 34 on The Sarah Fraser Show: “I didn’t believe it at first. I was like no,” he said.

“My initial thought was shock, like, ‘Hmm, how’d that happen?’”

He explained that he never met Urker “in person,” but that they had exchanged some text messages and spoken on the phone — interactions that were not particularly positive.

“But you still hate to hear that somebody passed away,” he said, adding that he immediately thought of his ex-wife and her child. Anderson said that he’s “there for Gypsy if she needs me.”

After Urker’s death, Anderson contacted Blanchard’s father, Rod, to offer his condolences.

“He was not in a good state of mind lately”

Following Urker’s death, Blanchard has also spoken out, telling People that she believes his passing was linked to an overdose.

“I don’t know if it was intentional or not,” she said. “He was not in a good state of mind lately.”

She also addressed the intense attention Urker had faced for being part of her story, saying he was the victim of an “unimaginable level of public scrutiny” and “relentless cyberbullying.”

“Ken was an amazing father and a man who was deeply loved,” Blanchard said, adding that Urker “will forever be my soulmate and my red string, a connection that time, distance, and even death can never erase.”

She also took to Instagram to pay tribute to Urker, writing: “You will always be my greatest love story. You will be remembered and loved forever.”
