Kevin Federline is being sued by his bank over a debt of more than $100,000. It comes after the child support payments from Britney Spears came to an end.
The 48-year-old Kevin Fedeline who shares two sons with pop superstar Britney Spears, owes City National Bank at least $117,704. According to court documents seen by Page Six, the debt is spread across a credit card, a personal line of credit and an overdraft.
The bank says the deadlines have come and gone, with his overdraft due in April 2025 and his line of credit that June. He had until August 2026 to clear the credit card. On top of that, he’s expected to cover the interest: 20.5% on the credit card, 18% on the overdraft and 7.5% on the line of credit.
The end of the child support
For years, Federline had a steady income from his famous ex.
He raised the couple’s sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, in Hawaii, and Spears paid him $40,000 a month in child support. When Sean turned 18 in 2023, that was cut in half to $20,000. The payments ended for good once Jayden finished high school a couple of years later.
That might sound like plenty to raise two boys. But Federline has said it didn’t go as far as people think. In his memoir, “You Thought You Knew,” he wrote that security and keeping the boys in the lifestyle they had with Spears “easily ran well over $40,000 a month.”
“The money was gone almost as soon as it came in,” he added.
Federline and Spears met and married in 2004. Sean, now 21, was born in September 2005, and Jayden, now 20, was born almost exactly a year later. By November 2006, Spears had filed for divorce and it was finalized in July 2007.
Spears wasn’t the first woman Federline started a family with. He already had a daughter, Kori, now 24, with actress Shar Jackson, and Jackson was pregnant with their son, Kaleb, when he got together with Spears. Kaleb, now 22, was born in July 2004, just a few months before Federline married the pop star.
After the divorce, he had two daughters with his now-wife, Victoria Prince: Jordan, 15, and Peyton, 12.
Britney’s bond with her boys seems to be mending
Spears’ sons spent most of their childhood living with their dad. Since her conservatorship ended in 2021, the singer has been open about how strained her relationship with them became.
Now that they’re grown up, things seem to be changing, however. Earlier this year, Sean joined his mom on a yacht trip, and Spears shared photos on social media of herself with both of her sons.
Not long after the reunion, Sean made a change that fans picked up on right away. TMZ reported that he had switched his Instagram name from Sean Preston to Sean P Spears.
