Nicole Taylor, one of the triplet sisters behind the country trio Taylor Red, has died after being diagnosed with breast cancer four years earlier. Her sisters have now offered a glimpse into what her final years were like.
Nicole Taylor died on September 28 at her home in Nashville, Tennessee. She was 35 years old and had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Her triplet sisters and bandmates, Nika and Natalie Taylor, shared the news this week.
“Nicole, the oldest of us three sisters, will be greatly missed,” they wrote on the band’s website. “She was our leader and our best friend. We are heartbroken, but we know she is in Heaven and will see her again.”
The family held a private funeral for Nicole. They have also set up a memorial page with Samaritan’s Purse, one of Nicole’s favorite charities, for anyone who wants to give in her honor.
The sister opened up about Nicole’s strength
The sisters opened up about Nicole’s illness in videos posted on Youtube and TikTok.
Nicole was first diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2022. According to Fox News, Natalie said it was “an aggressive type,” but Nicole met it head on. She kept doing CrossFit through her chemotherapy and responded well to treatment.
“She fought it fearlessly, and she said, ‘We’re not going to live in dread during all of this,'” Natalie said. Natalie added that when Nicole first heard the diagnosis, her reaction was: “God’s gonna use this for his glory.”
For a while, the news was good. But around nine months later, the cancer came back as stage 4, and doctors told Nicole she might have around three months to live. Her sisters said she lived for about a year after that.
“We honestly thought she’d be healed here on earth, but now she’s healed in heaven,” Nika said. “She said she had so much peace, and we’re really thankful for that,” Natalie added.
From Mississippi to millions of fans
The identical, red-haired triplets grew up in Mississippi and started making music together around 2010, singing and playing guitar, banjo, fiddle and mandolin. They later moved to Nashville and performed more than 1,000 shows, opening for stars like Josh Turner and Amy Grant.
Their big breakthrough came in 2021, when their song “Country Money” went viral online, NBC News reported. Since then, the sisters have built a huge following, with 16.7 million subscribers on their YouTube channel.
In March 2025, the three of them walked the carpet together at “Opry 100: A Live Celebration” at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.
