Kylie Jenner, 29, has found herself at the center of a heated online debate after she was filmed kissing her sister Kendall on the lips during a birthday celebration.
In the lighthearted video, Kendall and Kylie pose together for the camera. Kendall can be heard telling her younger sister to “kiss me”. Kylie then turns and gives her a playful peck on the lips. Kendall immediately pulls away, laughing.
It didn’t take long for the clip to spread online, and viewers quickly split into two camps.
Fans divided over the moment
Some were taken aback. “Guys that’s literally her sister,” one person wrote on X. Another asked: “So we are gonna act like this ain’t incest?” A third added: “Why would u kiss ur sister in the mouth?”
But many fans came to Kylie’s defense, insisting there was nothing strange about it.
“Not everything is sexual, people kiss their sisters all the time,” one replied. “This is normal. Stop trying to make it incestuous,” another wrote.
One person pointed out that “sisters giving each other a quick peck on a night out is so normal in a lot of families,” while someone else simply said: “Chill out, it was just a drunk kiss.”
Others just enjoyed the moment. “I swear drunk Kylie is one of my favourite people,” one fan commented.
A bond that started on camera
Kendall and Kylie, the daughters of Kris and Caitlyn Jenner, have always been close.
They were just 11 and 10 years old when Keeping Up With the Kardashians premiered in October 2007, and they have grown up in the public eye. Their bond still plays out on the family’s Hulu series, The Kardashians, where they are often seen joking around together.
Earlier this week, Kylie shared a sweet birthday tribute to Kendall on Instagram, with photos of the two through the years.
“I am who I am because of who you’ve been to me,” she wrote. “Happy birthday to my forever sister ostrich/deer cutie pie.”
The support goes both ways. When Kylie recently wore Victoria’s Secret’s famous Fantasy Bra, a custom piece made of 18-carat gold and 4,410 diamonds, Kendall was quick to cheer her on. In the comments of Kylie’s video recap, she called her sister “a gorgeous woman!!!”
