Driver pulled over with license plate from 1997 – ‘I’ve been busy’

Have you ever had so many things on your plate that you’ve accidentally put something important off for an extended period of time? Perhaps you put it off for so long that at some point it became too embarrassing to go through with it.

Well, prepare to be amazed.

Police in Louisiana recently pulled over a driver for an expired license plate, and it wasn’t just a few days or even weeks past its expiration date. It was a few years old.

“Sorry, officer. I’ve been busy lately and totally forgot to renew my vehicle registration. I will take care of it as soon as I get home.”

While it’s unclear what happened with the driver, the police offered a word of advice on Facebook.

“For those of you who like to ‘switch tags,’ at least give us a good challenge and don’t use a license plate that is over 20-years-old and expired back in 1997!”

This incident is almost as crazy as the time a dog put their owner’s SUV in reverse and rolled out into the middle of the road.

Can you believe someone thought they could get away with driving around with license plates from 1997?
