Dad builds real stage in his driveway so his daughter can have a proper graduation

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has put serious strain on all our lives, there can be no denying that.

Whether it’s not being able to work, being forced to stay in doors, or simply having to be more aware when you’re out and about, all of us have been affected in some way.

That includes the way we celebrate milestones and big occasions, too. Weddings, birthdays, baby showers, funerals … all of them have had to adapt or be missed out on.

Spare a thought, then, for those seniors who have worked tirelessly to ensure they graduate this year. They’ve dreamed of walking down the aisles, hearing their name announced and getting to throw their graduation caps in the air. Sadly, COVID-19 has curtailed all such plans.

Even so, families have done what they can to ensure their sons and daughters have a special day to remember.

One dad in particular, Torrence Burson, went above and beyond, when he realized his daughter Gabrielle wasn’t going to be able to graduate from Xavier University of Louisiana as planned.

Torrence built a literal stage on his driveway so that Gabrielle could have the experience of walking across one on her big day.

Not only that, but this super dad went so far as to create a mock program for the event! He pulled out all the stops to give Gabrielle a memory she’ll never forget.

“We love our daughter this much,” he said. “Regardless of the dollar figure, what it took to pull this off. If I had to do this over again, I’d probably do it even bigger.”

Wow, Torrence! What a doting father you truly are. We’re sure Gabrielle enjoyed her special day.
