Sometimes, I hear a story from real life that goes straight to the heart. This is one of those stories.
It’s about a bus driver from Minneapolis, Minnesota named Cynthia Bura. Every day, she’s responsible for keeping her bus on schedule, providing good customer service, and making sure her passengers are safe.
But one day about five months ago, Cynthia went above and beyonf her call of duty. She saw something concerning at a bus stop on her route—and decided to act immediately.
Meet Cynthia Burda. She drives a bus in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
One day, Cynthia saw a lonely dog at a bus shelter and suspected that it had been abandoned by its owners.
Cynthia couldn’t just leave it there. So, she contacted her manager and asked if she bring the dog on the bus. She wanted to take it to to an animal shelter, where it could get the love and care it deserved.
Thankfully, the manager agreed. Cynthia made a temporary leash and went out to fetch the dog. It was overjoyed to get some attention and was more than happy to go with her on the bus.
The commuters on Cynthia’s bus that day immediately fell in love with the unusual passenger.
“They were all just ecstatic about this dog. It made everybody’s day. The whole bus was really joyful,” said Cynthia.
Luckily, it turned out that the dog wasn’t abandoned after all. It had just escaped and gotten lost. And it wasn’t long before the dog’s owner was identified and the dog was reunited with its owner.
What a great ending to this story!
I’m so happy Cynthia stopped and picked up the dog. Otherwise, I don’t know how this story would have ended. Now, Cynthia is inspiring others to stand up for those who need help—whether human or animal! Please share her story!
