They say that dog is man’s best friend, but after seeing this video, it seems that there’s a new contender to that title.
In the video below, which has racked up more than 10 million views on YouTube, a couple is boating on the sparkling sea off of Newport Beach, California.
Suddenly, something swims right up to their boat. A closer look reveals that it’s a sea lion cub—and the couple decides to stop and film the little cutie as it passes by.
The sea lion, however, has other plans. It climbs into their boat—and before the astonished couple know it, their newfound friend has waddled up into their laps for a cuddle session for the ages.
The incredible encounter lasts for an hour—and I can certainly understand why the couple call it “an experience of 1,000 lifetimes.”
