Dachshund is found pregnant and abandoned, then vet looks closer and realizes the unthinkable

The dachshund Maria was mistreated and neglected by her owners.

She was malnourished, paralyzed, infested with fleas, and anemic. Her cruel owners even bred her while she was paralyzed, but abandoned her when they learned that would need a $3,000 C-section due to pregnancy complications.

According to Animal Channel, the poor pup was found when she was wandering the streets all by herself. When she was finally found and rescued by an animal advocate in 2014, Maria was taken straight to an animal hospital.

There, the vet made an unexpected discovery.

Maria was pregnant, but not with just one or two puppies… She was going to have seven!

Even though she was weak, Maria fought to have her puppies.

Since Maria was paralyzed, she had to give birth via a C-section.

The operation went well and all of her puppies were born healthy. Her rescuers dubbed Maria and her babies the “Von Dapp Family”.

Then, something amazing happened. After a lot of physical therapy, Maria also learned to walk again!

Now, she and her puppies have all been adopted by loving families.
