If you ever see this brown spot in your yard, back away immediately and call for help

You may have noticed a strange brown spot in the middle of your lawn before. Often, it can be put down to your pet dog or cat simply doing their business, but it can also be something else. Sometimes, it can be a group of visitors under the ground.

So it was for one homeowner in Ontario, who noticed said brown spot beginning to move.

After calling the experts, someone came out to help.

They took a closer look at the brown spot, which was dry and looked disturbed, and instantly realized what it was. They then decided to create a video to educate people more on what they should do if they discover something similar in their garden.

It turned out the patch was actually a den for newly-born rabbits. Under the dry grass were several bunnies!

It transpires that rabbits often hide their young like this, so that they can afford them the best possible protection from predators.

According to the experts, the best thing you can do if you see a brown spot like this on your lawn is back away and leave the bunnies alone. The mom only returns one to two times a day to feed her young, and they will soon be gone from your garden once they’re old enough to strike out on their own.

It’s a good idea to keep pets away from the area if possible, as curious dogs and cats can unearth the den.
