Korean Woman Cares For 200 Dogs She’s Saving From Meat Farms. What A Heroine!

I came across a woman that inspired me in a very unique way. I’ll skip to the chase and tell the story – she’s an older woman from Korea, who has basically been ‘rescuing’ dogs/puppies and taking care of them. Here’s the thing – dogs are actually considered a delicacy in her area, so not everyone quite understands why she’s doing it. To put it bluntly, yes, they eat dogs. If you ask me, this woman is simply a heroine. Not only is she saving the lives of dozens of adorable pups (you’ll see for yourself in the video) she is doing it under the scorn of her own people. The kind of strength it takes to go through that is exceptional. I am so proud of this woman – and all I can say is I’m fairly sure the world would be a better place if we had more of her around. Take a look at some of the amazing photos (and great video) of this story below.

Jung Myoung Sook has been rescuing and caring for dogs for 26 years, and has even been forced to move seven times because of neighbours complaining about the noise.

Despite this, she works hard at caring for the pups, even though she already has very little for herself. Pets are starting to become more popular in Korea, but public perception is a long way from the West’s general appreciation for dogs.

“Some people talk about me, saying, ‘Why is that beggar-like middle-aged woman smiling all the time,’ but I just focus on feeding my babies. I’m happy and healthy,” Jung says.

Jung lives by herself with her dogs, spending about US $1,500 a month on food and medicine. She also depends on donations, such as of soybean milk, pork, dog food and canned meat to survive.

Please share Jung’s incredible compassion with the world. Together we can inspire others toward good, too.
