Rottweiler with giant belly gives birth at midnight – after sixth puppy the math doesn’t add up

Back in 2017, Eleanor Usher was overjoyed and full of anticipation when she found out her beloved Rottweiler Jessie was finally expecting puppies.

Since ultrasounds are so expensive, she decided to let the number of incoming puppies be a surprise.

Normally rottweilers give birth to 5–6 puppies per litter. But when Eleanor’s dog gave birth, she was in for a huge shock…

As 2-year-old Rottweiler Jessie’s belly grew bigger and bigger, Eleanor suspected that she would have 8 puppies at the most.

One night Eleanor and her husband were awakened by a strange noise coming from downstairs. It was obvious what was happening: there were already two newborn puppies lying next to Jessie.

Eleanor knew there were more puppies on the way, but she never could have imagined just how many were about to arrive.

After six puppies had arrived, Eleanor was sure that was it.

“I told Jessie she was a good girl and that it was all over now,” says Eleanor to Metro.

But in fact, Jessie hadn’t even delivered half of her puppies yet.

The puppies kept coming, and the final count was 15 tiny, healthy rottweiler puppies. Jessie’s litter has set the record as the second largest ever in Great Britain.
