Andy Cohen is the latest celebrity to throw his name into the ring of possible hosts for Wheel of Fortune.
The TV personality recently told US Weekly it’s his “dream job” to replace Pat Sajak on America’s favorite game show.
Cohen, who regularly hosts a variety of reality TV show reunions has yet to host a game show, but says the idea is “incredible”.
“Not only is a game show the thing that I haven’t done yet, but that is the premiere game show. It’s really fun.”
His desire to host the show comes after Sajak, 76, announced he would be stepping down as host of the famed show after the upcoming season.
“I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last. It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all,” he said in a statement.
Following his announcement, rumors swirled about the next potential host. Some loyal fans wanted Vanna White to move into Sajak’s coveted spot, while it other suspected Ryan Seacrest might get the gig.
Whoopi Goldberg also said she was interested, though there hasn’t been as much support for her.
Cohen acknowledged the amount of work that went into Sajak’s job and said it would be something he’d be willing to give a shot.
“I don’t think people understand how hard it is to host that show and what a good job he does. He’s smart, he’s funny, he’s a great host. There’s a reason he is been on for so long. But yeah, absolutely. I mean, that would be a dream.”
