Ariana Grande’s latest video leaves fans deeply concerned for her health, but not everyone agrees

Ariana Grande’s latest music video has fans talking about more than the music.

Ariana Grande released the video for her new song Petal on Friday, unveiling a retro-inspired visual that pays tribute to the classic film Grease.

In the video, Grande appears in a vintage-style outfit featuring black leggings, an off-the-shoulder top, a neck scarf and her signature high ponytail styled in tight curls.

After sharing a preview of the video on social media, fans quickly flooded the comments. While many praised the song and its nostalgic aesthetic, others shifted the conversation toward Grande’s appearance.

Fans voice concern

Some social media users said they were worried about the Grammy-winning singer’s noticeably slim frame.

“She is extremely thin and it’s concerning,” one person wrote.

“At this point, im judging her team, friends, and family. This is insane.” another commented under the new video.

“Girl, we don’t want the old you back. We don’t want the old music, this new era is beautiful. We don’t want the old hair, the old outfits, the old make-up, none of that. We want you to be healthy. Not for us, but for YOURSELF.” another pleaded.

Others echoed similar sentiments, with some saying they hoped Grande was doing well.

Others urge people to stop commenting on her body

Not everyone agreed with the discussion, however.

Many fans defended the singer, arguing that publicly speculating about someone’s body or health is inappropriate and ultimately unhelpful.

“If y’all actually cared about her you wouldn’t be publicly making comments about her body,” one supporter wrote on X.

Another added, “Mind your own business.”

Others stressed that Grande’s music should be the focus of fans.

“Leave her body alone,” one fan wrote.

“Body-shaming a woman for being thin is still body-shaming. Keep the focus where it belongs: the music.”

Grande has addressed the issue before

Grande has previously addressed people commenting on her body, reflected on the pressure people face when others comment on their appearance, saying those conversations can be deeply uncomfortable regardless of who they involve.

She explained that even seemingly harmless remarks about someone’s weight or looks can be hurtful and emphasized that society has become far too comfortable making assumptions about other people’s bodies.

Grande also warned that this kind of public scrutiny can be “really dangerous.”

She later reshared the interview on Instagram as a reminder that it’s important to be mindful of how we speak about other people’s appearance.

As debate over her latest music video continues online, many fans are urging people to shift the attention back to Grande’s work instead of her body.
