Pamela Anderson’s made something of a name for herself in recent months where no-make up appearances are concerned.
Once hailed as an international sex symbol (thanks in no small part to her iconic role in Baywatch), the actress appears to have ditched the conventional rules adhered to by virtually all females in Hollywood, opting to go natural instead.
It might not be earth-shatteringly controversial, nor should it really be anyone else’s business what Anderson decides to do or not do with her face, but this is the 21st century, the internet exists, and as such changes like the one Pamela’s making can and will be dissected by the masses.
While celebrating the anniversary of her skincare brand, Sonsie, the 56-year-old took to social media to showcase the process she uses to achieve her radiant, smooth skin.
The post in question whipped social media users into a frenzy, with a good deal of commenters reportedly peeved by Pamela’s makeup-free face and how it has aged (yes, seriously).
It would seem that there’s a section of her fan base so lost to nostalgia that they can’t get past the fact that her appearance has matured and evolved since her Baywatch days.
“She’s only 56. Let that sink in,” one person wrote.
Another added: “She aged horribly.”
A third said simply: “Did not age well.”
“Aging is a horrible thing,” wrote a fourth, with another adding, “3 years older than me and looks 70. The 90s were a fun time!”
Now, it should be said that for every detractor there were individuals of a more positive mindset ready to defend Anderson’s look. We can only hope the actress herself has been in the industry long enough that she’s learnt to skim right over the busy-bodying of naysayers.
Indeed, this isn’t the first time the 56-year-old has split fans with her look of late. Anderson made her Met Gala debut earlier this year, veering from her no-makeup look to sport a slight touch up that didn’t go unnoticed.
The 56-year-old showcased a beautiful cream-colored dress designed by Oscar de la Renta for the event, embellished by diamond strings and crystals, and reportedly boasting close to 200 carats from Pandora.
It’s no exaggeration to say she looked phenomenal on the night, rubbing shoulders with a who’s who of the entertainment industry’s elite. And her makeup? Well, the face Pamela showed the world was one delicately touched up with simple golden eye shadow, pink blush, and glossy lipstick.
And yet there were still people ready to criticize her appearance.
“This ain’t it, Pam. Could have done so much better here, especially with the hair. Not a good look at all,” one person wrote at the time.
“She looks older than her age. More like a woman in her mid 60s,” added another.
We’re happy that Pamela Anderson seems completely comfortable in her own skin. Let us know what you think to her look, age 56, in the comments box.
