Ben Affleck reportedly ‘never happy’ in shared $60m mansion with J Lo

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck marked their second wedding anniversary under somber circumstances, spending the day apart amidst increasing speculation about their marital troubles.

Lopez was seen riding her bike alone in the Hamptons, while Affleck was photographed entering an office building in Los Angeles, thousands of miles away.

Their separate outings coincided with the public listing of their $60 million Beverly Hills estate, which they had been privately showing for several weeks. A source revealed: “They decided to list the house very recently.”

The couple, who have reportedly been living apart, initially tried to sell the mansion off-market. However, they ultimately decided to publicly list the property to attract more potential buyers. The insider shared with RadarOnline: “They’re in a rush to sell it. Ben especially wants to be done with the house. He was never happy there.”

Neither Lopez nor Affleck ever “felt settled” in the 38,000-square-foot luxury property, according to the source. With their five children rarely all being there at once, the home felt excessively large for just the two of them. The decision to sell the property has been seen as a significant indicator of the state of their relationship. “Nothing has been decided yet as far as the divorce, but selling the house is the first step,” the tipster noted.

Despite this, another source close to the couple disclosed that divorce papers had already been drafted following unsuccessful attempts at reconciliation. “They finalized the divorce papers a month ago but are waiting for the right time to drop them. At that time, they will release a joint statement that will say how they have much love for each other and how they fought to make it work but couldn’t,” the insider said. “Honestly, in the end, they could not come to a compromise. What they had before is gone and they have both accepted it.”

Speculation about their troubled relationship began circulating in May after Affleck moved out of the couple’s shared home and into a $100,000 per month bachelor pad in Brentwood. Subsequently, the Argo star purchased his own $20.5 million estate in Pacific Palisades on Lopez’s 55th birthday. An exclusive source remarked, “Ben’s decision to move into his own home is the final insult.”

“Lopez had been holding onto hope that there could be a reconciliation if they were to spend some time apart, but this is like a stab in the heart,” the source added.

As the couple navigates this difficult period, their actions, such as listing their Beverly Hills estate and living separately, suggest a growing acceptance of their separation.

While no official statement has been made yet, the steps they are taking seem to signal an impending announcement regarding the future of their relationship.
