Billy Ray Cyrus has been accused of subjecting his estranged wife, Firerose, to months of “extreme verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse,” as well as calling his daughter Miley Cyrus a disgusting name, according to leaked audio.
The 62-year-old country star and the 37-year-old singer were married for seven months before he filed for divorce and allegedly “kicked” her out of their home.
As previously reported, an audio was released earlier this week, capturing a heated confrontation between the former couple. The argument seems to have been triggered by Billy Ray’s anger over being made to go on stage late for a show.
In the recording, the Achy Breaky Heart singer can be heard lashing out at Firerose: “If you had just left it the f**k alone, now I’m really f**king p***ed, once again showing you will not listen. I don’t know who the f**k you think you are, but you will not listen…this ain’t about nothing. This is about you being a selfish f**king b***h.”
Continuing his expletive-laden tirade, Billy Ray sneered: “I don’t think you’re real smart. I’ve changed my mind on that s**t. What I think you are is a selfish f**king b***h. That’s what you are.”
When Firerose begged him to “please stop shouting,” he retorted: “This would not be happening if you had just shut your f**king mouth. Look what a f**king mess you’ve made. What a dumb *ss [you are] …’cos you have to know I will not tolerate that s**t. You just f**ked up…f**k you. You know better than that. F**king idiot.”
In response to the backlash against him following the release of the audio, Billy Ray addressed the situation on his Instagram story, writing on Wednesday: “Hell yeah, I was at my wit’s end. As every day went by, I started realizing something was wrong. And that’s before I knew she was a fraud. I just knew something wasn’t right. That was before I knew she was David Hodges [sic] ex-wife. That’s before I knew her parents’ last name.”
Billy Ray also targeted Miley Cyrus, his daughter and the first biological child he had with his ex-wife, Leticia “Tish” Finley. Billy Ray has six children in total, including adopted children Brandi Cyrus and Trace Dempsey Cyrus from Tish’s previous marriage, as well as Braison Chance Cyrus and Noah Lindsey Cyrus.
In another audio clip, Billy Ray bizarrely spoke about himself in the third person before calling Miley “that devil’s a sk*nk.” Leaked text messages between Billy Ray and his publicist, Scott Adkins, also showed him referring to his ex-wife Tish as “s**t,” calling her “a liar…a w***e…and a cheat. Complete sk**k. Scum of the earth. A fraud.” He even compared her unfavorably to Lindsay Lohan‘s mother, Dina Lohan, writing: “[She] Makes Deanna Lohan look like Mother Theresa.”
Firerose claims that Billy Ray kicked her out of their home on May 23, 2024, one day before she was scheduled to undergo a preventative double mastectomy after being diagnosed with the BRCA1 gene, which is associated with an increased risk of breast and ovarian cancer. The gene gained public attention when Angelina Jolie underwent a preventive double mastectomy in 2013 after discovering she carried the mutation.
Firerose filed a motion to retrieve her belongings, claiming that Billy Ray refused to let her return to the home to collect them. Documents showed that she had agreed to move out after the divorce filing and not return without his permission. Although they had arranged for Firerose to collect her belongings on May 29, those plans fell through as Firerose was in the process of changing lawyers.
The former couple attempted to reschedule another date until July 12, when Firerose was informed she “would not be permitted to return.” Firerose’s motion stated, “The letter cited that wife was not trustworthy and raised complaints husband had with alleged premarital conduct of wife.”
In court filings, Firerose claimed that Billy Ray isolated her from everyone in her life except for her AA sponsor, insisting she remain in contact with them.
