While Charlize Theron is no stranger to Dior and Paris Fashion Week, her daughter Jackson, 11, is another story.
The mother-daughter duo made a rare public appearance together at Dior’s fashion show at Jardin des Tuileries Tuesday.
Both looked stunning as they sat in the front row. Theron, 48, wore a white button-up paired with a gold beaded maxi skirt, and Jackson wore a red plaid jacket with matching skirt.
The Atomic Blonde actress is careful with what she shares about her two daughters, Jackson and August, 8, and she rarely makes public appearances with them.
Although over the summer the trio celebrated Theron’s birthday at a Taylor Swift concert, and the mother of two shared a short clip of her daughters dancing the night away.
In a 2018 interview, Theron revealed she had always wanted to adopt a child.
“I was always aware that there are so many children in this world who don’t have families,’’ she said. “Adoption is a very personal thing — I know people whom I love dearly who don’t feel that they could raise another child as their own. I respect that.”
“But for me — and I can’t be the only person out there — I never saw a difference in raising an adopted child versus my own biological child. I don’t feel like I’m missing out on something. This was always my first choice, even when I was in a relationship. I was very honest with my partners that I was open to having my own biological kids but that adoption had to be a part of my life. I felt that strongly about it.”
After “many situations that didn’t work out,” Theron finally adopted her daughter Jackson at the age of 6 in 2012.
“Jax I think was the eighth baby that came around,” she said in a 2020 interview with W Magazine’s Five Things’ podcast. “So a lot of them fell through. A lot of them were high risk pregnancies. You get emotionally attached and then it doesn’t turn out the way you’re hoping and you get crushed.”
She adopted her second daughter, August, at the age of 2 in 2015.

I completely respect Charlize Theron for protecting her children from the limelight. Although it is fun to see her kids every once in a while to see how much they’ve grown.
