Diane Keaton’s gym instructor reveals actress’ 5-word goodbye after class

iane Keaton was loved by many, not least the ones close to her. Neighbors have revealed that she was always happy and genuine, just like her gym instructor, Alba Verela. In an interview with People, Verela now shares Diane Keaton’s words, which she always uttered after class when saying goodbye.

It’s not yet known what caused the death of beloved actress Diane Keaton. The 79-year-old star passed away last weekend.

While many celebrities decide to hide behind large fences and gates, Keaton was different. For example, a source told People Magazine that she was often seen walking her dog, Reggie, in her Brentwood neighborhood, saying hi and chatting with the people she met.

Sadly, she was not spotted in the last couple of months.

“She loved her neighborhood. Up until just a few months ago, she’d walk her dog every day. She was usually dressed the same, with a hat and her signature sunglasses regardless of the weather,” a source told People.

“She was always very nice, funny and chatty. She’d talk to her dog like he was a person. She was eccentric and had this old-school Hollywood aura. She was very, very special.”

Diane Keaton’s gym instructor reveals what the actress always said before leaving class

Now, another person who had plenty of contact with Keaton in her daily life has come forward. Instructor Alba Verela, who worked at the SoulCycle’s studio in Santa Monica, California, where Keaton worked out, told People Magazine that they first met in 2015 when the actress took her Saturday 10 a.m. class, called “SoulSurvivor.”

At first, she was “completely starstruck,” and said she “freaking love Diane Keaton.” Verela has been working at the gym for 13 years, and Keaton became a regular in her class. She said the actress “went at her own pace,” and “did good.” As time went by, they began to get to know each other.

“I was starstruck every time she would come to class.” Verela says she would think to herself, “I can’t believe Diane Keaton is back again.”

The gym instryctor continued to explain that Diane Keaton was usually one of the last people to leave the gym class. The actress always said thank you and said goodbye.

“Every single time, she would come up to me after class, and I remember [her] specifically telling me, ‘Thank you, Alba. I had so much fun,'” Verela recalled. “She would make sure to come up to me and thank me right above my handlebars.”

“She was such a nice lady”

The gym instructor continued, “I was grateful for that interaction with her. She was such a nice lady. Because not usually would you get a celebrity [to] come up to your bike handlebars and thank you for the class and tell you that they had fun. It just meant the world to me.

“I felt seen by Diane Keaton. She would call me by my name, which I loved,” Alba Verela said.
