News outlets have been churning out the headlines following Sunday night’s Super Bowl, which saw the Kansas City Chiefs battle it out against the San Francisco 49ers and take home the Vince Lombardi trophy.
Usher performed at half-time with special guests will.i.am and Alicia Keys, while Reba McEntire sung a stunning rendition of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner‘.
Taylor Swift, 34, has been in full-focus for months, given her new relationship with Chiefs tight-end Travis Kelce, also 34, and the Super Bowl only earned the couple more media attention. Though, fans are now warning the singer about Travis, especially after his “red flag” behavior…
A tense moment for Travis Kelce
Travis forcefully collided with head coach Andy Reid on the sidelines during the Super Bowl game, leading to social media discussions and labeling him as a “red flag” to his girlfriend.
The incident occurred during the second quarter when Travis was temporarily removed from the game following an action that resulted in a fumble by his teammate Isiah Pacheco, sparking anger from the NFL star. Despite catching the football just once in the first half of the game, gaining only one yard of forward progress, Travis remained visibly frustrated.
He was then caught on camera taking his frustrations out on Coach Reid. The Chiefs tight end ran up to Reid, grabbed his arm, and yelled in his face.
Travis has since declined to reveal what was said, telling reporters after the game: “You guys saw that? I’m going to keep it between us unless my mic’d up tells the world.” He then joked that he was simply telling his coach he loved him, but lip readers have come to the rescue.
According to MailOnline, lip readers determined Travis shouted: “Keep me in. You f****r! I’m calm now!”
Although the inappropriate interaction looked serious, Reid was able to joke about it during the post-game.
“He keeps me young,” Reid said of Travis. “He tested that hip out. He caught me off balance – normally, I’d give him a little bit, but I didn’t have any feet under me.”
Fans warn Taylor Swift
People took to social media, expressing disapproval of Travis’ behavior. One user commented on Twitter: “You don’t get to ape up someone all aggressive like [that] just because you’re frustrated. Taylor, my darling, my dove, my lamb, this is a big red flag.”
Conservative commentator Jason Whitlock also weighed in, adding: “Travis Kelce just ran up on one of the greatest coaches in NFL history and shoved him during the Super Bowl. I think that’s a story that Jim [Nantz] and Tony [Romo] have to address. This is wild.”
Despite the altercation, Travis and Coach Reid maintained a positive relationship, with Travis apologizing and expressing his respect for the coach after the game.
This isn’t the first time Taylor has been warned about her relationship with Travis. In fact, the athlete’s ex-girlfriend Maya Benberry, previously cautioned Taylor about her romance with Travis.
Maya, who dated Travis for around five months in 2016, accused the Ohio native of cheating on her, per the Daily Mail.
“Taylor seems like such a fun girl with a beautiful spirit so I wish her the best of luck but I wouldn’t be a girls’ girl if I didn’t advise her to be smart! I’m sure by now she has mastered the ability to see who is really there for her – and who is just using her,” Maya advised Taylor.
