Garth Brooks is considering leaving the United States for Ireland after the country music star was accused of sexual assault in early October.
The 62-year-old hinted at his possible plans during a recent appearance on his Facebook Live series, Inside Studio G. He shared how his wife, Trisha Yearwood, has been “pushing hard” for a house in Ireland.
“We played two weekends, so we went on that stint across the country, and everyone was so sweet to her,” he recalled of their time in the country during his 2022 tour.
News of the star’s possible move comes weeks after a makeup artist who formerly worked for Yearwood, accused Brooks of rape and sexual abuse. According to a claim filed in California, the incident happened in a Los Angeles hotel room in 2019, though the abuse carried on for several months.
Brooks immediately denied the claim, stating it was nothing more than an attempt at a cash grab.
“For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars,” he told the DailyMail.
“Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money. In my mind, that means I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of — ugly acts no human should ever do to another,” he added.
