Halle Berry gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at her transformation into her character for her latest film Never Let Go, and not everyone was impressed.
“Thank God this is for a movie. 😂” one user wrote under her Instagram post.
“Momma in the making 🎥 One of the most complex characters I’ve had the pleasure of embodying. #NeverLetGo is in theaters everywhere!” the 58-year-old actress captioned her carousel of photos.
She took to the social media platform to show fans what it took to get into the character simply called “Momma” in the new horror-thriller movie.
In the first clip, Berry and her makeup artist Norma Patton-Lowin laugh about the actress’ modifications for her role.
“What did you do?” Berry asks Patton-Lowin as she shows off her hairy armpit. The two continue to laugh about Berry’s fake tattoos and overgrown eyebrows.
Although Berry made it clear the changes were for her role in the psychological thriller, many fans had a hard time embracing the new “Hairy Berry.”
“Praise God. Girl you had be scared for a minute,” one fan wrote after viewing Berry’s Instagram post.
“Omg please get rid of that,” someone else begged.
“How do people not get that it is for a movie?” another fan questioned. “Even if it wasn’t, it’s nobody’s business what someone does with their own body. Congratulations on the film, Ms. Berry!👏💖”
