Speculation has been rampant and fans have been worried — so it came as a surprise today when it was announced that Jamie Foxx has signed on to host a new TV game show.

Foxx will be teaming up with his daughter Corinne to host a new show called We Are Family, in which celebrities and their non-celebrity relatives will compete in a music guessing game. The show is slated to premiere in 2024.

Foxx currently hosts the game show Beat Shazam, on which Corinne serves as DJ. Both shows are produced by FOX Entertainment. Nick Cannon recently stepped in as guest host after Foxx’s hospitalization.

“We are thrilled to be developing We Are Family with Jeff Apploff and our friends at FOX Entertainment after so much success with six seasons of Beat Shazam,” Jamie and Corinne said in a joint statement, per People.

“We hope this show brings as much fun to audiences at home as we’ve had creating it when it premieres next year.”

The new announcement is welcome news for Foxx fans — the most reassuring sign yet that the Django Unchained star is in fact on his way to recovery.

While Corinne wrote that her dad was “already on his way to recovery” after his hospitalization, anonymous sources and tweets from the actor’s friends raised speculation that his condition was far worse than the family was saying.

“Jamie’s people are saying he’s doing OK and improving, while doctors try to get to the bottom of his problems — but he wouldn’t be in a hospital this long if he was anything close to OK,” an anonymous source told RadarOnline.

“His friends and family are hoping for the best — but preparing for the worst!” the source added.

A May 12 tweet from actress Nia Long further stirred speculation: “My heart is heavy this morning,” she wrote. “Praying for our brother Jamie Foxx. My love and prayers run deep for you and your loved ones.” Foxx’s friend Charlie Mack also put up a social media post asking for prayers.

However, Corinne shot down these rumors recently, writing on Instagram that Jamie has “been out of the hospital for weeks” and “was playing pickleball yesterday.”
